- 3 slices of bread (your choice: sourdough, whole grain, or white)
- 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons jalapeños, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a skillet: Begin by heating a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter the bread: Generously butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place the first slice: Lay one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
- Layer the cheese: On this slice, layer the cheddar, mozzarella, and pepper jack cheese, followed by the sliced jalapeños.
- Add the second slice: Top with another slice of bread, butter side up.
- Cook until golden: Let it cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then carefully flip the sandwich.
- Melt to perfection: Cook the other side until the bread is golden and the cheese is melted, roughly another 3-4 minutes.
- Serve: Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.
Notes
For a vegan version, use dairy-free cheese and vegan butter. To make it gluten-free, substitute with gluten-free bread.
