Crispy outside and soft inside, these Veg Lollipops are bursting with flavors of garlic, spices, and creamy paneer, making them a delightful snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrot
  • 1/2 cup chopped capsicum
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander
  • 2 boiled potatoes, mashed
  • 1/2 cup grated paneer
  • 5 slices of bread (white or brown)
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup maida (all-purpose flour) + water + salt (for slurry)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the chopped vegetables, ginger garlic paste, spices (red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt), chopped coriander, boiled potatoes, and grated paneer. Mix well to form a cohesive mixture.
  2. Take a slice of bread and flatten it using a rolling pin. Cut into shapes suitable for lollipops like circles or squares.
  3. Take a portion of the vegetable mixture and shape it into small balls or your desired shape, then insert a stick into each ball.
  4. Prepare the slurry by mixing maida with a little water and a pinch of salt. Dip each lollipop in the slurry and then roll it in bread crumbs to coat.
  5. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, fry the lollipops until they turn golden brown.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

These lollipops can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days in the refrigerator or frozen un-fried for up to 2 months.
